Why Train Your Puppy
Are you planning to get a puppy soon? How exciting! Do you already have a new puppy? Congratulations! Puppies are wonderful beings that come in relatively small packages. However, puppies grow up very, very quickly – right before your eyes at lightening speed.
If left untrained, little puppy problems evolve into big dog issues. Wild, undisciplined, LITTLE bundles of energy are one thing. Wild, undisciplined BIG bundles of energy are something completely different. That is why training your puppy right away – when your pup is small – is the best strategy to raise your puppy and establish a wonderful human-dog relationship.
How does puppy training make life with your puppy easier? Puppies are a blank slate who know NOTHING about human lifestyles. To adapt your puppy to your lifestyle, puppy training encompasses every minute of every day to sculpt your puppy into the dog of your dreams. Puppies have short attention spans and short memories, so effective training must be done frequently and consistently.
Puppy Training Video Series
We are producing a puppy training video series starring the newest edition to our Muttley Crew – Kylo Ren. She is a young Topbrass golden retriever pup (born on 9 December 2017). Please follow Kylo Ren’s training progress and adventures on her Instagram site (@KyloRenPup). In addition, we will share general puppy dog training tips on Kylo Ren’s site and on Lucky Dog Training Instagram site (@TrainingLuckyDogs).
Puppy’s First Training Skill
Potty training is, by far, the most important skill to teach a puppy. Kylo Ren has reached the critical, potty training milestone of “asking” to go potty at the tender age of 10-weeks-old. How did we achieve that critical milestone so quickly? That is the focus of our first series on Potty Training. If puppy training starts right away, you can achieve so much in very little time. We will let you know as soon as it is available.
